This CLA 1 will explore systems of resistance to organizational change. This assignment is two-fold. First, you will interview a manager using the questions below (you may want to add other questions you consider necessary):

1. What symptoms of resistance to change have you experienced?

1. Have you experienced both active and passive forms (Define the forms for the interview and prompt them for more explanation)?
2. Have you ever expressed resistance to organizational change (as a recipient of change)?
   1. Give an example.
3. What experience do you have with resistance to change when you were the one responsible for change management?

2. Which of the various reasons for resisting change do you believe to be the most common?
   1. What are your top three in this regard?
3. Which of the various reasons for resisting change do you believe to be the most difficult to deal with (as a manager)?
   1. What are your top three in this regard?
4. When senior managers resist change at the strategic level, they are in a position to cause more damage than employees resisting changes at the operational level. Have you worked in a company where you believe that management resistance to change may have existed?
   1. As a manager yourself, what would you try to do to prevent this from happening?
5. Which approach to the management of resistance do you find to be most challenging?

Once the question answer has concluded, analyze the responses, draft out some of your initial reactions to the responses, and video record your response analysis in a 5-minute presentation. Create a 5-to-7-slide PowerPoint presentation to accompany your recording. You may use any software of your choice to record.
