Lab $5$: Structural Concrete and Excavations

Export your length and count markups from Bluebeam to MS Excel then modify them to produce

quantities of excavated material, bedding and initial backfill, final backfill, and excess spoils.

For each size and type of piping, report the following:

CY Excavation

Tons of Bedding & Initial Backfill $($Pipe$-$Zone Material$)$

CY of final backfill

$,CY$ of excess spoils

Your Keys to success:

You must have used subject$/$label properties in your markups in order to filter pipe by size and

type.

Eliminate excess columns before exporting to Excel

When you export to Excel, you will be exporting a "Comma Separated Values" file or $.$csv

a$.$ It is absolutely critical that you "save as$"$ a true excel file $(.$x$|$sx$)$ prior to starting the work.

This might seem like a lot of work $-$ at first. But if you learn the process and excel formulas for

one pipe size, you can simply recreate the formula for the remainder of the pipe sizes and accomplish

the work with minimal effort.
