CASE STUDY-SE CTION 1: 1. Read the following case and answer the questions given at the end. (3+2 = 5 Marks) Quality Management principles are sets of rules or beliefs for leading and operating an organization aimed at improving the performance continuously. ABC Consultancy. Inc. is a well- established consultancy firm, functioning for the last fifteen (15) years. The organization has been facing competition both from local and international firms. However, the organization's operation in the industry has been showing marginal increase until last year. During the last year there was a great decrease in the effectiveness of their performance. The management team realized that some obstacles in the implementation of their quality management has been identified; that there is lack of continuous training and education with its staff and they also face an increased competition from the rival firms due to their inability to change the organization's culture, as well; hence it is affecting its continuous quality improvement. In order to regain the competitive position and improve continuously, the company has decided to revise the implementation of its total quality management system and organized a team for this purpose. a) If you are the Quality Manager of the ABC Consultancy, Inc., which particular principle/s you will adapt as appropriate in order to address the corresponding obstacles that the ABC Consultancy, Inc. has identified. Identify at least two (2) suitable principles of TQM. Explain and Justify your answer based on the cited situation in the case.
