Crane Problem
The NCDOT is construction a replacement bridge across an operating set of train tracks. The bridge will utilize (4) Four Steel Girders to span the crossing. Due to the overall span distance, a temporary bent will be construction adjacent to End Bent 111 to allow for the 224 section of the girder to be spliced and connected which will require (2) Two different Crane lift evaluations.
As shown on the attached plans, the Crane must be set up adjacent to End Bent W2 due to the residential area on the End Bent Il1. Side of the Bridge and to limit traffic obstructions within the existing roadway (The Bridge will be closed during replacement).
The rigging assembly will utilise a Load Beam that provides a (2) Two Cable connection to the Hook Ring and a (4) Four Strap arrangement from the Load beam to the load.
Using the provided information contained on the Plans and Table, determine the following:
Total Weight for each Girder Lift (includes all Lifting accessories)
Required Boom Length and Angle to complete the Individual lift.
Boom Length and Angle Provided (You will need to select the Boom Length for the Maximum as you will only set up the Crane once)
Maximum Capacity for each lift.
%of Maximum Capacity for each lift.
Lift Type for each lift.
Weight per lifting strap (From Load Beam to Load)
Weight per Load Beam Cable (Hook Connector to Load Beam)
