Create a decision tree for the scenario you outlined in Topic 1 DQ 1. Attach the decision tree to your response and include insights into how you crafted it. How would you apply this decision-making experience to larger scale decisions at an organizational level?
A very common decision that we are required to make is ordering food for lunch or dinner.Plethora of options available for meal ordering and the various other circumstances makes the decision making process tedious. Let us take example of ordering food for lunch. In these scenario we can use the Vroom Yetton Jago decision model. This model comes with the assumption that different decisions have different scales of weightage and importance associated with them. Our food decisions can be facilitated by using this model.Sometimes when we have extra time, so we can go for a complex and elaborated food serving. If we have exams or classes, we need to have a food product which can be consumed in a quick time. The factors associated with this decision model help us in making the best decision by laying emphasis on following factors : -DECISION QUALITY : This factor associates the criticality of the decision and the different criteria for the same. For example:Based on this factor, we choose the cuisine that we want to consume on a particular day. If we want to eat more proteins, I will choose a product, which is high on proteins, and if we want to take a carbohydrate rich food than will take decision accordingly.
-ORGANISATIONAL COMMITMENT OF SUBORDINATES : Our decisions need to be best aligned with the different objectives in our life. For example if we have exams than we take protein rich foods so that we could be mentally active during exams but if we have leisure time at home than we can take heavy foods in carbs and fats to rest. -TIME CONSTRAINS : Every decision is bounded by limitations of time. For example , if we have exams or lectures to attend than we will have to place order for such types of foods which can be takes in a go but if we are out for trip or vacations than we can go for elaborated lunch.
