Topic: The Accommodation Sector

Examine how businesses in the accommodation sector best protect themselves against liability. Focus on the laws in British Columbia that apply to this topic. Subtopics:

• Assess the liability and impact of the negligence on the accommodation sector.
• Analyze the physical components of accommodations facilities and identify possible liability problems, including Front of the House, Back of the House, Public Areas and Semi-Public Areas.
• Explain the standard operating procedures that would reduce the chance of culpability for a hospitality property from the liabilities associated with negligence, including fire and other emergency procedures.
