• Create a menu for a restaurant with at least 5 items. Suppose this restaurant is being opened in a country where they use base 2 instead of base 10. Write the price of your items in base 10, and then again in base 2. (Make sure your items are reasonable prices!)
• If someone walked in and bought three items from your menu for lunch, add up those three items in base 2.
• Now suppose your restaurant is expanding to a different country that works in base 3. Translate your menu into base 3 below.
• Choose the same three items you did in #2, but now add them up in base 3.
• Suppose the person ordering the items in #4 changes their mind before the food comes out, and send one of the items back. Take the total from #4, and subtract one of the items in base 3.
• What would 101 represent in base 4? How do you know?
