Create a new variable called file with a value of tmp$.$zdkei$083.$ The tmp$.$zdkei$083$ file exists in the user$$s home directory, using the command:

file$=$tmp$.$zdkei$083$

file can now be a substitute for the actual file tmp$.$zdkei$083$ and be used with other commands, like ls$,$ cp$,$ mv$,$etc. Adding a $ to the beginning of the variable name will retrieve its value of the file variable. This can be demonstrated with the following examples.

ls $-$l $file

cp $file ~$/$Downloads
