History and Origin Also called as Barangay Quizumbing. Situational Analysis Barangay Quisumbing is located in the south coast of Calaca City. It is 3.3 kilometers away from Calaca City Hall. You can reach the barangay through land or water transportation. Demographic Situation According to the 2015 Census of Housing and Population Report of Philippine Statistics Authority last August 2015, the population of the barangay is 2, 193 with 492 household. There is an average of 4.46 members in a household. Population Distribution by Age For Table 1, the most number of population per age is the age bracket of five to nine with 238 population and 10.85%. Followed by fifteen to nineteen with population of 227 and percentage of 10.35 . The third is the from the ages ten to fourteen with 220 population and 10.03%. Then, the least number of population per age is from eighty and over years old with population of 7 and percentage of 0.32 . Vision To be a community that establish and promotes development and encourages the balance of agricultural, aquatic, and commercial community. To develop and establish the barangay to be a sufficient, progressive, and beneficial community that serves the welfare of everyone and every community sectors. Gaps and Challenges According to the analysis of the following personalities (the Barangay Captain, a former Barangay Counselor, the TODA President, and the Fishermen's President), the following are the priority concerns. - Development of barangay facilities including Barangay Health Center and Barangay Hall to provide the basic needs of the people. - Development of schools to accomodate and instruct the number of students in the barangay. - Reconstruction of the bridge from Barangay Quisumbing to Barangay Camastilisan that is used by elementary students to attend school in Camastilisan Elementary School. - Formation and improvement of farm to market roads to address the accesibility of goods and services provided in the barangay to the city. - Redevelopment of street lights along the barangay road. - Environmental health problems should be addressed and improved. Most households have no proper bathroom and still uses open drainage and pit privy toilets. This also includes the need of improvement of the water and drainage system. - Threats to peace and order, and of demolition from the (Panginoong Maylupa). Improve the quality of life through adequate barangay facilities and with self-reliant, productive, healthy, secured, and well-informed citizens of Barangay Quisumbing. Objectives - By the end of 2023, all proposed plans are on-going. - By the end of 2024,25% of the infrastracture projects are constructed and functional. - By the end of 2024 , all households have proper bathroom and have access to clean and potable water. - By the end of 2024 , all farmers have access to farm-to-market roads. - By the end of 2025,75% of the infrastracture projects are constructed and functional. - By the end of 2026 , most primary students of the barangay are enrolled and studying at the proposed Quisumbing Elementary School. - By the end of 2026,100% of the infrastracture projects are constructed and functional
