Create a questionaire for a research project using the following information:
Research question: What is the impact of informal Savings Groups on Banking and Non-Banking Financial institutions?
Overall aim:To assess whether the impact and collaboration of Informal Savings Groups with Zambian Banking and Non-Banking Financial Institutions is the same
Objectives
To investigate existing and potential synergies between ISGs and BFIs in comparison toNBFIs
To assess challenges encountered by BFIs in comparison to NFBIs in forming partnerships with ISGs
To assess how ISGs affect loan portfolio, deposit base and overall business performance of BFIs in comparison to NBFIs
To determine the extent to which ISGs serve as a replacement or supplementary structure of Banking financial Institutions in comparison to Non-Banking Financial institutions in Zambia
Methodology
The research is an exploratory comparative study of the impact of ISGs on Banking and Non-Banking Financial Institutions.
A mixed methods approach will be used, employing a quantitative survey approach that will provide insight from ISGs that have been in existence for a minimum of two years to provide insight on utilization of BFIs and NFBIs or the lack thereof.
The researcher will employ descriptive statistics to summarise the data for closed-ended questions using quantitative analysis. Calculating various statistical measures like means, medians, modes, ranges, and standard deviations, as well as utilising inferential statistics for hypothesis testing, such as t-tests or ANOVA, when comparing groups like BFIs versus NBFIs, Landman & Mthombeni (2021). When analysing open-ended responses, the researcher will use content analysis to identify common themes or categories. Categorise the responses according to these themes and assign numerical values to them for integration into the quantitative data.
A systematic review of existing literature from peer-reviewed academic journals, institutional reports, databases as well as grey literature will be conducted to provide additional insight and learning of potentials and challenges that exist `between ISGs and BFIs and NFBIs from similar contexts.
A comparative analysis to examine the differences and similarities between BFIs and NBFIs regarding their partnerships with ISGs will be conducted. One approach is to use cross-tabulation or multi-variate analyses to explore the connections between various variables.
When analysing the impact of ISGs on financial institutions, the researcher will conduct correlation analysis to investigate the strength and direction of relationships between variables. In order to understand the manner in which various factors are linked to outcomes, such as loan portfolio size or business performance will be achieved through regression analysis Dean et al (2017). Further triangulation will be utilised to merge the outcomes of both quantitative and qualitative analyses for validating research finding. This strategy enhances the research's reliability by cross-verifying data through various methods.
In-person interviews and surveys will be used to help gather both quantitative data and qualitative narratives to enhance survey results. Representatives from formal banking institutions, non-banking financial institutions, regulatory agencies, and government officials will be interviewed extensively.
Findings will be organized in a structured manner, via using of tables, graphs, and charts to visually represent the data. Examine the consequences of the findings within the framework of research goals and the current body of literature.
