Create Schemes and Themes

Problem: You have been asked to create a custom color scheme, font scheme, and workbook theme for your school or place of employment.

Part $1$: Start Excel and open a blank workbook. Click the Colors button $($Page Layout tab$)$ and then click Customize Colors to open the Create New Theme Colors dialog box. Click the Accent $1$ color button and then click More Colors. When Excel displays the Colors dialog box, click the Standard tab. Choose the color most closely associated with your school or business. Repeat the process for Accent $2$ and Accent $3$ using different colors. If your school does not have three colors, choose colors that complement the Accent $1$ color. Before closing the dialog box, press Alt $+$ PrtScn$($print screen$)$ to capture the dialog box in the clipboard. Enter a name for your color scheme. Click Save $($Create New Theme Colors dialog box$)$ and then paste the screen capture onto the worksheet.

Click the Fonts button $($Page Layout tab$)$ and then click Customize Fonts to open the Create New Theme Fonts dialog box. Choose a heading font and body font that closely matches the fonts used in your school or company headline or logo$.$ Before closing the dialog box, press Alt $+$ PrtScn$($print screen$)$ to capture the dialog box in the clipboard. Enter a name for your font scheme. Click Save $($Create New Theme Fonts dialog box$)$ and then paste the screen capture onto the worksheet.

Click the Themes button $($Page Layout tab$)$ and then click Save Current Theme to open the Save Current Theme dialog box. Enter a name of your theme. Before clicking Save, press Alt $+$ PrtScn$($print screen$)$ to capture the dialog box in the clipboard. Click Save $($Save Current Theme dialog box$)$ to save the theme. Paste the screen capture onto the worksheet.

Arrange the three screen captures side by side and then save the workbook with the file name SC$\_$EX$\_11\_$Schemes.
