This week you had the opportunity to learn about several affirmative defenses withinsanity being one of them. For this week's discussion, locate your state's insanity defense statue. Then respond to each of the following:

• What is the test for insanity in your state?
• Who bears the burden of proof once the defendant introduces some evidence of insanity?
• Do you think the test in your state adequately protects (a) the public and (b) the defendant's rights?

Compare and contrast your response to one of your classmates from a different state.
