Explain the reasons for using the chosen techniques for the analysis. Why are the techniques deemed appropriate to achieve your research objectives? Why not using other techniques discussed in the same chapter? b. Provide detailed computations involved in applying the techniques. c. Explain or interpret essential parts of the computations. d. Conclude based on the results given by each technique. 4) Questions will also be asked about the important concepts of the chosen techniques. Due to unavoidable circumstance, some products are awaiting services in company XYZ. The best estimates for the labor times involved and the promise dates (in several days from today) are shown in the following table. Assume company XYZ works for 5 days/week and 6 hours/day. Products Television Radio Computer Time Since Order Arrived (days) Processing Time, including Setup (days) Promise Date (days from now) 8 4 5 1 6 5 4 6 3 (a) Table 1 - Products await service in company XYZ Develop separate simulation schedules by using First Come First Serve (FCFS) and Earliest Due Date (EDD) rules. The standardized schedule template is provided below. If the most important factor is the average flow time figure, which rule should be chosen? Show steps of your work. (20 marks)
