Defending Academic Integrity (Assessment Task)

Instructions

In this assignment, you will apply the knowledge in this module as well as your oral skills in English. Please review the content and materials of the module before you complete this assignment.

Imagine that you submitted the last project in a course, and you professor refers you to the Academic Integrity Board because your score is too high. You are certain that your work is original, so you request a meeting with the professor and the Programs Director to defend yourself and present your evidence. Write the statement that you would present in that meeting to defend your work and to be cleared from the academic integrity accusation. Remember to use social cues of an academic context, and to write your statement using formal language. Once you have written your statement, record yourself presenting it as you would in that meeting.

Your statement should:

1. Include at least 10 or more complete sentences.
2. Have a formal greeting.
3. Identify 5 academic vocabulary words or phrases included in the learning resources of this module.
4. Be written using formal language.
5. Include a strong final statement that is intended to convince the audience of your innocence.
6. Once you have your written copy of the dialogue in a PowerPoint format, record yourself presenting it as you would in that meeting.
7. Submit the written dialogue and recording on Canvas.
