Assignment Title: Annotated Bibliography
Assignment Due: 01/12/23,18:00
Assignment Credit: 15 credits
Word Count (or equivalent): 2000 words (you may incur a penalty if your word count is 10% plus or below the stated word requirement).

Percentage Grade (Applied Core Assessment). You will be provided with an overall grade between 0% and 100%. You have one opportunity to pass the assignment at or above 40%.
Assignment Task
For this assignment you will produce an Annotated Bibliography of 2000 words.
Your Annotated Bibliography will have 3 sections, each approx. 700 words.
Section 1 will be on Leadership and Management.
Section 2 will be on Work Psychology and its impact on Employee Engagement and Motivation.
Section 3 will be on one of the following people management practices (choose one):
Managing Conflict and Resistance
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
Performance Management
Reward Management
Teamwork
For each section you must:
Find a relevant peer-reviewed academic journal article published since 2018.
We will provide you with journal articles that we discuss in lectures and seminars (and upload to aula), but you may also find your own journal articles.
Provide the correct reference for the journal article you have chosen at the start of each section.
Discuss how what you have learned from this journal article can be applied to a relevant real-life case that has been in the media in 2023.
In your seminars, we will be analysing relevant cases that have recently been in the media. You may use these cases for your assignment, or you may find your own.
E.g.
The UK nurses pay dispute in 2023 would be a relevant real-life case for either the Reward Management topic or the Managing Conflict and Resistance topic.
You may use the same real-life case more than once.
If you use the same real-life case in more than one section, be careful not to repeat the same points as you will not get marks for repetition.
At the end of the section, you must provide the correct references for the media sources you have used to research the case.
A template and example of an Annotated Bibliography section will be provided in the Assessment area of the module aula space.
Submission Instructions:
You must submit your assignment to the link on the Assignments section of the module Aula space.
You may only submit in Microsoft Word or similar format that can be edited. You may not submit a PDF document.
Development of Skills and Attributes:
In undertaking this module and assessment, students will develop the following Graduate Attributes:
Communicate effectively Through the Annotated Bibliography exercise, students will develop their ability to extract and then clearly communicate relevant information from both academic and media sources. They will develop their skills in persuasively communicating how the ideas in the academic sources help us to better understand real-life examples found in the media.
In learning how to apply their subject and professional knowledge and skills in relevant contexts, they will also demonstrate their ability to Get things done. In choosing which academic sources to apply to which real-life cases, students will develop the ability to make logical and well thought through decisions.
Act with integrity Students work must be their own and should not incorporate uncited content produced by others. In analysing the real-life cases, students will reflect on the actions of managers and organisations and the consequences these have for equality, diversity, inclusion and sustainability. This will develop students ability to reflect on the integrity of their own actions as future managers.
