he system entities are Customer-queue and Severs. The system events are Customer-Arrival and Customer-Departure. (The event of Servers-Begins-Service can be part of the logic of the arrival and departure events.) The system states, which are changed by these events, are Number-of-Customers-in-the-Queue (an integer from 0 to n) and Employee-Status (busy or idle). The random variables that need to be characterized to model this system stochastically are Customer-Interarrival-Time and Employee-Service-Time.

2.Question 2: Select System and Convince a Manager that DES is an Appropriate Select the most suitable system from Question 1. The manager of the system needs to be convinced that DES is the most appropriate tool to analyze the selected system. The manager has little information on DES. Therefore answer the following questions with regards: Question 2.1: Using the real system selected (from Question 1) describe what type of system DES can analyze; Question 2.2: Using the the real system selected detail the main objectives of the simulation study, i.e., what will it answer?; Question 2.3: The manager is unsure how a model can replicate variability in their system. 3.Restate the objectives of this study from Question 2. Using the selected system develop a conceptual model, i.e., document what you want to include in your simulation model (on your knowledge of SIMIO). Currently there no known standard for documenting a conceptual model. Use standard icons (find these by using a web search) to represent elements (entities (i.e., people, parts, etc), queues, machines) and document any control required in the simulation model using text. At this stage do not be concerned about the size of your conceptual model, in Case Study Assignment 2 the model can be reduced so it can be coded in SIMIO.
