In this assignment, you will install virtualization software and a Windows Server 2016 operating system. The virtualization environment and Windows Server will serve as the basis for the remaining projects in this class.

The deliverables of this project will be a Microsoft Word document with screenshots of the installation process of the virtualization environment and Windows Server and the saved output from the msinfo32 command. Additionally, you will write in less than one page (double spaced) on your experience with installing this software. You should include what you learned in this process, what were the challenges, how you overcame them, and what resources you used that were the most helpful to you in completing this assignment in addition to answering the specific questions listed below

Your screen shots should include the following requirements:

- Each step of the virtualization platform install (other than the BIOS changes).

- A screenshot of the running virtualization software

- 2 screenshots of interaction with the Windows Server install.

- A screenshot of the completed desktop.

Your Windows server should meet the following requirements (completed prior to running msinfo32):

- Windows 2016 (with full GUI)

- If using Hyper-V, choose Generation 1 virtual machine

- Computer name should be your Cal Poly BroncoName

- Windows should be FULLY patched with Windows Updates

- Hardware resources should have at least (just a recommendation)

- 2 vCPUs

o 4 GB RAM

o 40 GB Hard Disk (thin provisioned) NOTE: MAKE SURE THE DISK IS 40 GB. Other assignments will rely on this.

Output from the msinfo32 command

- In the Windows virtual machine, run msinfo32.exe, click on File, then Export and save the output to a .txt file.

Event Log output:

Open the Event Viewer and expand Windows Logs, right click on each of the event logs (skip the Forwarded Events log), select Save All Events As and save each of them as a CSV file named for the log (System will be system.csv).
