Description
Matthew 20:1-16
Fairness, equity, and justice are terms that we often take up. Oddly enough, the challenge is equally applying our sense of equality. You may have heard the illustration of the person traveling down the highway 4 mph over the speed limit. As he comes upon slower traffic, he feels a sense of frustration. After a few minutes, he is able to make his way ahead and moves back over into the right lane. Moments later he is passed by another vehicle. He remarks to his passenger that this passing vehicle is driving dangerously by speeding.
The issue, of course, is that we often view our journey as ideal. The persons traveling slower and faster are both wrong. Yet to others, we are conducting our travels unsafe.
Equality is often only seen through our own lens.
