Description & Purpose: In this 5-7 minute speech, you will be given the opportunity to inform your audience about a topic of your choice by using an informative speaking structure. Speech Instructions: 1. Choose a topic. Ensure that your aim is to inform. Avoid topics that compel you to persuade. For example, do not say things like "why you should....". Your topic must be different than your last two speeches. 2. Research your topic. Gather evidence and creative examples that will help you elaborate on your topic. Make sure to CITE SIX SOURCES. 3. Create main body points and sub-points. Make sure that you arrange these in a logical pattern. Include transitions/signposts 4. Create an effective introduction 5. Create an effective conclusion 6. **Create or select visual aids:** You must use visual aids that enhance your presentation. You MUST use slideware (Powerpoint, Prezi, Google slides, etc.) and a minimum of 3 slides. You may add tangible objects if you wish. Visual aids must meet the following criteria: Communicates ideas visually Simple and uncomplicated Professional/relevant and of appropriate quality 7.
