Riipen is a platform to connect educators and students with businesses and non-profits. It allows experiential learning by providing real-time projects for the students to work on. The students will create a plan, use research and evaluate the findings to provide the business or non-profit organization a final recommendation to implement change successfully.

Objectives

Based on the information by the organization, the students will develop a change management plan, which can include a framework and structure to manage the change in the organization. This is a group project, and the student teams will create a plan to provide innovative solutions to help overcome the challenges faced by the organization.

Instructions

1. This is a live project with an organization. The instructor will share the following information through Important Announcements in Week 1 or Week 2 of the term:

a. Details of the organization with which the students would work

b. Groups in which the students will work.

c. Instructions to sign up on Riipens platform.

d. Project Description, deliverables, and the timeline for deliverables

e. Contact details of the organizations representative for regular interaction throughout the term.

2. The final report or presentation submitted by the team, would also be assessed by the Instructor as well as the representative from Riipen.

Depending on the organization, the projects that can be done can include the following:

1) Assess the readiness of the organization for the change

Catalysts for change - Summarize the change and identify why change is required in the organization.

Resistance to Change - Identify the ways in which people resist change in organizations

Change Agents - Identify change agents, the roles and responsibilities of various agents of change

Recommend the sponsor and change agents in the organization who can influence the change.

2) Change Management Plan - Propose how to implement the change

Identify action-planning skills to lead strategic change

Specify the collaborative relationships that would be required during organizational change

Identify organizational design/ organizational structure and relate the associated challenges

Formulate the steps necessary to implement changes in an organization

3) Building mutual engagement/ Engaging in change

Analyze the requirements for building coordination and teamwork in an organization

Suggest a communications plan which will include identifying who should be communicating, how they should communicate and the timing of the communication
