Every big life decision that we have made so far, or will make in the future, will undergo some measure of planning, implementation, and monitoring.

You will reflect on a big change that you have gone through in your past and relate it to the change management process. Examples of changes could be moving to Canada, finding an apartment, getting married, choosing a college program, or any other change you have experienced.

Rational:

This will evaluate the following course learning outcomes:

Explain IT governance best practices and deliverables based on their purpose and appropriate applications. Apply industry best practices for IT governance to develop IT strategies and assess performance. Analyze IT governance challenges to identify their possible causes and recommend appropriate actions according to industry best practices.

Directions:

Begin the assignment with a brief description of the change being discussed. Then for each of the 3 phases, consider:

  1. Planning Phase: What planning did you do? Relate your change to the task steps within this phase where possible.
  2. Implementation Phase: What did implementation look like? Did the change go as smoothly as planned? Did you run into any obstacles?
  3. Monitoring Phase: Has the change been successful? In hindsight, would you do the same planning and implementation steps again? Was there anything you failed to plan for?
