My aunt Catherine was living at Number 6, Springview Cottages, Arden Village, AR10 2DD when she died. She had lived in or near Arden all her life, except for a period of 5 years during the 1980's when she lived in Japan with my uncle. My uncle died 20 years ago, and my aunt never remarried. They never had children. She sold the house she shared with my uncle in 2015. The house was worth quite a bit and the sale provided her with substantial savings which she lived on along with her state pension until she died. She always lived very frugally and carefully, and it seems her savings and pension were sufficient. My aunt kept very meticulous accounts of her incomings and outgoings. From what I can see, at the time of her death she had a bank savings account with just over £10,000 in it. She had £5000 in Premium Bonds and just under £3000 in a cash ISA. I look forward to discussing more with you later this week.
