Desperately need an Arduino code that can measure the PH using a probe

Parts I'm using:

Arduino Uno

1602 162 LCD Display

Petomemeter 10K

Breadboard/Wires

(no resistors or capacitors)

PS: I've used and tried pretty much every code online to measure the PH but none of them seem to display anything on the screen. All the wiring is correct as well as the Petomemeter. Only thing im getting is the squares across the screen
