Detailed Specification:
A web Application Design &Development for a fictional restaurant company known as London Restaurant. This coursework is to be carried out individually
The London Restaurant has three branches Greenwich, London Bridge, and Oxford Circus. There is a flat rate price for the set menu meals which is dependent on its typecategory and not on the season. The data held on each restaurant is the address which is made up of street, city, county, postcode, telephone number, and email address. Each restaurant is given a restaurant number, which is totally unique throughout the company. In addition, each restaurant has and allocated staff member known as Admin staff. The data held on a Admin staff is his or her name, Staff ID and password. The given a staff ID is unique throughout the company. The Admin staff is responsible for handling the stored data on the companys database.
Each restaurant has seats and offers a set menu and an al carte menu at various price ranges depending on whether it is lunchtime or evening. The data held on a seat is the Seat No Restaurant No meal time lunch or evening cost status. The Restaurant No should uniquely identify a particular restaurant but you may want to consider how to make it unique across the separate restaurant branches. The status of a seat on a particular date and time of meal indicates whether the seat in one of the restaurants is available or not available.
Before booking a seat for a meal, a potential customer must first register as a member of the London Restaurant Group. Each member is given a member number, which is unique throughout all restaurants brances. Once registered, a member is able to book seats for meals at the restaurant of their choice. The data held on each members booking is the booking number, the full name, number of seats required, the restaurant number, and the time and date of the booking. The booking number is unique throughout the company.
The owner of the London Restaurant has approached you to set up a prototype dynamic web database application for customers to register, search for and book meals at the restaurants. The online system could also allow for the staffadministrators to maintain the database tables and member bookings. However, the restaurant billing payment system is above and beyond the scope of this coursework but you may attempt if you wish.
