Develop a BOM process routing for a BLT (bacon,Develop a BOM process routing for a BLT (bacon, lettuce, tomato) sandwich comprised of bread, bought in a loaf, lettuce bought in a head, and bacon, which is bought in a one-pound package. Each slice of bread is covered with a thin layer of mayonnaise bought in quarts.

Bill of Materials A BOM lists all the items and quantities needed to produce a quality product. An incorrect quantity or item can result in excessive inventory or the inability to ship a product. All quantities in the BOM must be expressed in the unit of purchase. For example, if the purchasing unit of measure is each, then each item in the bill will be each. If the bill requires a quantity of four, then a quantity of four will be in the bill. If the purchasing unit of measure is a thousandth and the bill states that a quantity of eight is needed, then the quantity in the bill will be 8/1000 or 0.008. This conversion insures an accurate cost of material and order quantity. Everything used to produce a product or perform a service must be included in the BOM regardless of quantity used because noninclusion could result in an item becoming declared obsolete. This will cause the item not to be reordered resulting in no shipments of products containing that item. Table 6.1 shows an example of the BOM for a scooter design capstone project. Table 6.2 lists all parts for an assembly item in Table 6.1
