Develop a bullet list that contain all elements of the full proposal (5 points)

The elements of the full proposal are as follows: Proposal title Introduction Hypotheses Materials and Methods Analysis Significance References Budget and Budget Justification

The title should be descriptive and give the reader a first idea where the rest of it is going. Below, under each topic, list one or more bullet points that indicate the direction your research proposal will take. The introduction should contain elements from your previous literature summary that provide the context for your study and the research question you will address. The hypothesis should contain your first draft of the hypothesis you will test, your methods section should cover the where, when and how of our study. The significance section should contain statements about the implications and/or utility of your study. You already have the references from step1 (maybe you add some additional references here, as needed). Lastly, list what you need to purchase to see this study through and how much each item will approximately cost. Here is an example of how this may look like:

Title: Do bees prefer crops over weeds?

Introduction Importance of bees for crop pollination We know that bees use a large variety of flowers and the have dietary preferences It would be good to know if flowers prefer crops over weeds in a weedy field

Hypothesis On a plant-by-plant basis, the flower of a rapeseed plant is visited by more bees than the flowers of a nearby weed.

Materials and Methods: Place: a weedy rapeseed field east of San Marcos Time: when the rapeseed flowers in spring Observation: over a fixed period of time, count the number of times bees settle on a rapeseed inflorescence and a flowering weed species nearby Replication: Repeat this in several different spots, over several days

Analysis: Since the data are counts, I would use a contingency table and Chi Square test to see if the rapeseed flowers got consistently more bee visits.

Significance: If bees prefer crops they would be more efficient pollinators and make it more difficult for weeds to reproduce. But it may also be good for bees to include weeds in their diet so they have something to eat when the crop doesn't flower.

What will you need to conduct this study and how much will it cost?
