Students will use the Developing a Marketing Plan' supplemental reading to complete this assignment. In the first section of this assignment, students need to identify the select tourism destination (and tourism product(s), if relevant) and provide a brief overview of the city/region. Next, review the information provided in the Developing a Marketing Plan reading and provide the requested information for each step. Step 1: Identify two goals of the marketing plan and one objective for each goal for the selected tourism destination. (4 points) Step 2: Identify the tourism destination (and tourism products, if relevant) selected and provide relevant information tourism specific). In addition, provide sufficient information on exactly what you are marketing in this marketing plan. (3 points) Step 3: Conduct a SWOT analysis for the tourism destination selected. You need at least two bullets for each letter in the SWOT analysis. (4 points) Step 4: Identify the position of your selected tourism destination and discuss the differentiation strategy. How is your destination positioned (i.e., different) compared to your competitors? (4 points) Step 5: Identify ("pick") your target market(s) and provide information to support the selection of target group(s).
