Development in adolescence and adulthood is marked by strides, as well as challenges; with physical maturity comes new health risks. School experiences are critical to adolescent development. The social and personality development of adolescents is strongly influenced by the process of identity development.Other factors influencing development include changes in adolescents' self-concept and social relationships. In adolescence, the teen's self-concept becomes more abstract and differentiated.More emphasis is placed on enduring, internal qualities and ideology. These factors continue to play out in other areas, such as ones' career choice.
