Find a video or a series of video clips $($totaling $10$ minutes or less$)$ that you can show at the beginning of your presentation in class that provides an overview of your chosen case.

PART $2$: GROUP PRESENTATION ON ETHICAL ENGINEERING CASE OR ISSUE

Directions: In your group, you will lead a class discussion on your engineering case or issue by describing and analyzing the case and presenting an application of your assigned cannon to the case.

Required Contents:

Summary of Engineering Case$/$Issue: Provide a synopsis of the key details, information, actors, and actions that constitute the real$-$life engineering ethics issue or problem chosen by your group.

Identification of External Goods: Describe four $(4)$ external goods that were supposed to be generated in your case.

a$.$ Two of these goods should be described in terms of the components of capabilities from Ch$.2$ EEOC.

Analysis of the Engineering Disaster: Provide an explanation of the key failures in the case in each of the three areas below:

a$.$ Engineering

b$.$ Management

c$.$ Ethics

i$.$ Application of Ethical Theories: Explain the central ethical failures in your case in terms of two $(2)$ of the three $(3)$ ethical theories we have studied in class.

Identification of Applicable Engineering Canon guidelines: Identify the relevant engineering ethical canon guidelines using the "Code of Ethics of Engineers" document on MyCourses in the Content section under "Assignments".

a$.$ The group presenting Canon $7$ may also apply the guidelines under Canon $8$ in the "ASCE Code of Ethics" document on MyCourses in the Content section under "Assignments".

Application of Engineering Canon: Provide an argument for how to ethically resolve the situation using your assigned engineering cannon.

a$.$ Include how the actions recommended by your assigned engineering canon resolve the ethical issue indicated by your analysis of this case in terms of your selected ethical theories.

Discussion Questions: Create two discussion questions to extend the conversation relevant to your case.

Suggestions:

Use class lectures, class reading, Persuall, etc. to help you understand, articulate, and apply key concepts and principles concerning your real$-$life engineering ethics issue.

Use your own $($collective$)$ voice in delivering your presentation; although your speech needs to be clear, try to avoid being overly technical. Clarify any important terms you anticipate may be misunderstood. This should also apply to any written text on your PowerPoint slides.

Rehearse your presentation as a group before your class presentation. This will

Prepare members for how you will structure, interact, and transition during the presentation $($for example, which group members will be responsible for presenting which sections?$).$

Help the group with the timing and pacing of your presentation so you can make sure that you do not finish your presentation early or exceed the allotted time.

Familiarize the group with the specific points you want to cover, your explanations of ic arguments, and the language you will use in delivering these points.

Minimize the amount of text on your PowerPoint slides. Rely more on bulleted lists to present or definitions.
