DISCUSS: Analytical Article - Podcast NOTE THE DATES: Students are required to submit their business article post (by the Due Date), which is one week prior to the End Date to allow everyone time to select and post reflections on two additional articles.
This Discussion Requires Three Total Posts: Business Resource Initial Post (On or before the Due Date) Reflections on two additional posts (by reading two classmate's summaries and posting your own reflections on or before the End Date) PODCAST Directions:
Everyone is required to identify and read a recently published PODCAST on entrepreneurship or small business management that relates to the current unit of study. Students are required to write two paragraphs for each resource reviewed. Remember - A substantive paragraph contains a minimum of three to five sentences. This is a business class and not a creative writing class. You will not earn credit for unnecessary fluff or filler. Yes, I'm that picky and I own it.
The Analytical PODCAST discussion assignments are meant to encourage the habit of reading/listening to news related to small business management and the business world in general. You will research podcasts and select a relevant podcast and episode or two of interest to you and relevant to the current unit of study. You should expect to listen to 30-45 minutes of content - Some shows are shorter and this may require you listen to several episodes to get a good feel for the production and content.
As you can imagine, there will be numerous resources that might fall into these categories so pick something that piques your personal interest. Here are a few pods to start you off if you're interested in marketing:
Digital Marketing Podcast by Target Internet
Social Pros Podcast with Jay Baer
Online Marketing Made Easy by Amy Porterfield
Duct Tape Marketing by John Jantsch
Marketing School with Eric Siu and Neil Patel
Blitz Growth with Jack Paxton
The GaryVee Audio Experience with Gary Vaynerchuk
The Marketing Book Podcast with Douglas Burdett
Call to Action by Unbounce
Social Media Marketing Podcast with Michael Stelzner
Your post should contain two paragraphs: Discussion Subject: List the title of the PODCAST not "Analytical PODCAST." A clear subject line will give everyone an idea of whether your PODCASTis an area of interest for potential replies.
Paragraph 1: Summary of PODCAST- Descriptive and informative laying the groundwork for understanding your reflection and opinion. Paragraph 2: Your reflection about that PODCAST and how it relates to small business management or entrepreneurship. Why is it important? Why did this catch your eye? How might you apply this information going forward? Is it a reputable source of information or inspiration? Do you recommend it? Why or why not? Weblink: You are required to provide the web address of the PODCAST reviewed so that your classmates can easily find it. Test your link and make sure it works!
