Discussion Questions Based Upon Chapter Eight: After you have read chapter eight of your textbook and watched this weeks video's, then, please reflect upon your own past experiences and share with us how poor listening skills or incivility in the workplace may have led to a communication breakdown between you and a person from your past. It could be a store clerk, a family member or even a co-worker. 1. Post a challenge to your fellow students by explaining what happened to you and how they might have handled the outcome differently. Let's see what ideas everyone might have! (do not post how you handled the situation or the results, not at first -- post the challenge, and see what ideas surface). 2. Now that you've posted a challenge, RESPOND TO SEVERAL OTHER STUDENT SITUATIONS THAT HAVE BEEN POSTED with your ideas for how you would have handled those situations (feel free to utilize personal experience and/or chapter eight of the text or any other research to help prepare your response). 3.
