Erick was wondering why he had not heard from the company he had interviewed with two weeks ago. He thought the interview went well, but as he reflected on it he began to have doubts. Maybe his normal assertive behavior was not considered as being knowledgeable or authoritative. He tried to make an impact, but perhaps it was NOT appropriate. He remembered how the interviewer had looked at him as they shook hands. Erick wore $$baggies$$ and had forgotten to remove the ring from his tongue; his shirt was not properly ironed and hair coloring may have been too much.

Expecting a management position right from the get$-$go seemed to surprise the interviewer. Erick$$s experience was limited to having been a buser at local restaurant, but he had a college degree and that, he figured, should put him in the management ranks.
