Draw a Flowchart of your choice! Draw a flowchart for a process of interest to you, such as a quick oil-change service, a factory process you might have worked in, ondering a pizza, renting a car or truck, buying products on the Internet, or applying for an automobile loan. Please make sure it is a complete process such an phone order, creation, and then delivery or pickup if choosing some sort of food process. My point is this should be more than 2-3 steps. -Identify the points where something (people, information) waits for service or is held in work-in-process inventory, the estimated time to accomplish each activity in the process, and the total flow time. -Don't forget to mark your line of customer visibility in the process. -Evaluate how well the process worked and what might be done to improve it. - Anything surprise you in the process? Areas of improvement? etc. Complete your actual flowchart large enough to be easily read (so most likely one page). Don't choose too complicated of a process to analyze or this will become too lengthy of a project - but again, not too simple either. :-) Be sure to answer the questions in at least 1/2 page - but don't short the comments and leave me with questions!
