Due: See your Instructional Plan for the exact due date.
Submit to: The Assignment 2Opens in a new tab submission folder.
Description
Surveys are usually one of the first elicitation activities that you will use on a project as the BA. Using the same project scenario you came up with for Assignment 1, you will develop a short survey to give to one or more user classes of your choice.
Rationale
This assignment will evaluate the following Course Learning Outcomes:
CLO1. Apply elicitation techniques to determine the requirements for a software project.
CLO2. Extract customer needs and objectives from elicitation activities.
Directions
There are 4 parts to this assignment.
Part 1: Restate your project context
Briefly restate the project scenario from your first assignment:
What is this business and what do they do?
What are the pain points that the business is trying to reduce or eliminate?
What is the proposed solution to reduce or eliminate these pain points?
NOTE: If you need to, you may choose a different project scenario than your Business Requirements assignment.
Part 2: Define your survey's scope and objective
Define the scope and objective for your survey. What information are you trying to elicit and why? Be specific. Ensure the scope of your survey topic is appropriate for a 10-question survey. (i.e. Keep your scope narrow and focused on one topic.)
Part 3: Define your survey's target respondents
Describe one or more user classes that your survey will target. Who did you choose and why? Be specific with your user classes. Explain how this group of respondents will help you fulfill the surveys objective. Your targeted respondents must be fully aligned with your survey's scope and objective.
Part 4: Develop your survey questions
Create a survey for your target respondents that is aligned to your objective and appropriate for your target respondents. Your survey should include 10 questions in total (in any order):
8 close-ended questions you must demonstrate a variety of close-ended question types
2 open-ended questions
You will be evaluated on the relevance and organization of your question, the variety of your questions, and the wording of your questions.
