During this module, you develop a design recommendation utilizing your assigned scenario. You will submit your own draft recommendation for a new or improved design concept. Your proposed solutions should include the following components: Develop a design concept that could mitigate the consequences or prevent the event from occurring in the future- This is where you apply knowledge from nuclear engineering technology courses- Thermodynamics, radiation protection, materials (nuclear materials), reactor core fundamentals, electrical, etc. Your analysis must include mathematical concepts/equations. Identify and discuss appropriate codes, standards, and regulations within the nuclear engineering technology (NET) field in the areas of: radiation protection, operations, maintenance, quality control, quality assurance, and safety." Use recommended reference from M4.6. Ensure that the presentation contains graphical information, either in graphs or diagrams, to illustrate your design change. Use a spreadsheet for the labor cost calculation. The project costs associated with such a project would include not only labor (manpower) cost for the design and installation of the system but the materials and training required to safely get the system integrated into the plant.
