Each student should write at least one case study about any Micro, Small or Medium Enterprise. (SME) This can be a global SME or local SME. Students are highly encouraged to focus on innovative SMEs that fit with Oman vision 2040. Student should submit their case study by week10.
Case studies aim to be an innovative and practice-based teaching material on entrepreneurship for higher education, in particular by using real cases and experiential learning.
Cases refer to existing companies and particularly to local ones in order to provide students with role models at local level with which they can easily identify themselves. The case studies relate to different business sectors, and concern different entrepreneurial stages such as start-up, growth and management of a company. In this respect, case studies are selected to address real problems that would-be entrepreneurs or young entrepreneurs will have to tackle with, such as lack of capital, skills, Omanisation, supply, access to markets, opportunity recognition, profitability, competition, Oman vision 2020, etc. Particular attention is devoted to display case studies on innovative or technological sectors.
A note on student recommended references: The student is recommended to use and defend any innovation strategy that is explained in the class or something that he has observed in the environment.
