Each student will write a paper that discusses and responds to the principal challenges to the possibility of ethical leadership: the corruptive nature of power and the ends justifying the means (dirty hands)(Ciulla,2014). Papers should be at least 2,500 words, and representative of the high-quality thinking and writing expected of college students. Example: Take a challenge such as housing, food shortage or climate change or take an issue such as media, corporations or governments falsifying information. Who are the specific leaders involved? It could be on the world stage or within a country or corporation. Please be prepared to show alternative views on an issue. Describe the primary leaders involved in the issue. The focus of the writing is on the leader using the concepts of ethics and addressing the dirty hands situation. What do you suspect are the biases or morals these leaders employ? Do they have hidden agenda and is it related to financial gain? Describe what is dirty about the situation. How did they handle it? What alternative ways could they have handled it? Of course, this was a crisis situation and very ambiguous. It seems that sometimes there is no good answer. But are their ulterior motives or dark powers, corruption, and egos padding ones own pocket involved?
