Early last April, it was announced that 28 Spring Breakers from the University of Texas, ignored the advice to not travel and took their chartered private plane to Cabo to celebrate Spring Break and now have tested positive for COVID-19. Their excuse for still going dealt with preplanning and not wanting to change.
Most organizations have a mixture of workers that are resistant to change and some workers that welcome it. To deal with the first group, one needs to overcome the resistance to change; to deal with the second group, one needs to overcome resistance to stability. Which one would you rather deal with as the manager of an organization (resistance or welcoming)?
What advice would you give to a manager dealing with both groups? How can you have change and/or stability and get your workers to see the other side?
