4. Twenty minutes after Sam sent the e-mail above, Nouv terminated Sam and security personnel escorted Sam out of QPIs headquarters.

That same day, Nouv sent out an e-mail to QPIs board calling an emergency board meeting scheduled for the next day. Despite the quick timeline, five of the seven board members (including Nouv) attended the meeting. At the meeting, Nouv told the board about Sams departure and proposed hiring an additional person to help Maggie with her expanded responsibilities. The Board agreed to Nouvs proposal and authorized Nouv to hire a qualified employee.

Nouv also told the Board that he wanted to make sure that QPI controlled the distribution of QPIs products, and the pricing for those products, at least within the U.S. Specifically, Nouv wanted to make sure that QPIs independent U.S. distributors did not undercut QPIs sales by selling QPIs products for less than QPI was selling them. He also wanted independent U.S. distributors to only sell QPIs products within their exclusive geographic territories, as determined by their distribution agreements with QPI. The Board agreed, and each member spontaneously erupted with evil laughter.

When Nouv finished his presentation, the Board members didnt see the need for any discussion. As usual, they just agreed with Nouv. The meeting ended with a general discussion on where to go for lunch.
