ERD Exercise Using the text below which describes Video Store Corporation, decide on the entities and relationships required to fully document the area described. Use the Oracle method of drawing ERD's to document the cardinality and optionality of the relationships. The Video Store Enterprise consists of a number of stores. There will be at least 1 store, on average 20 stores, and at most 50 stores. It is anticipated that the number of stores will grow by 1% per year. To rent tapes, a person has to become a member of the Video Store Corporation (a club membership) and then take out a store membership at each store where they want to rent tapes. A club membership is an individual who, or family that, has been approved by Video Store Corporation for the purpose of renting tapes from one or more stores. The Video Store Corporation will have at least one club membership, a maximum of 50,000 and on average 30,000 club memberships. It is anticipated that the number of club memberships will grow by 5% per year. As already stated, each club membership can be either for a family or an individual. Approximately 20% are family memberships. Those family memberships will on average have 3 club memberships associated with the club membership, but at most there will be 5 club memberships associated. To rent a videotape, a club membership has to take out a store membership for each store from which they wish to rent tapes. Ninety-five percent (95%) of club memberships have store memberships. On average a club membership will have 2 store memberships, but at most there will be 5. However, each store membership must belong to only one club membership.
