Essay 3 Essay Mode: Argumentative Essay Instructions: Choose ONLY ONE prompt and develop it into an essay with an Introduction, FOUR Body Paragraphs, and a Conclusion. Write your essay on the Google Doc attached with your name ONLY. 1) Prompt One: To Marry or Not to Marry! Marriage is the culmination of love between a man and a woman ready to become legally united for the rest of their lives. Since love is sudden and definitely surprising, it can bring two people together who seem far different from each other. Therefore, it is no wonder to see cross-cultural marriage marriage between two people from different cultural backgrounds becoming common and even widespread. Even though this type of marriage is everywhere and is undoubtedly successful in most cases, it is a subject of controversy. Some people support cross-cultural marriage since it has many benefits. First, it is a celebration of love. Second, it is about learning about a new country and its traditions, meeting new people, and expanding one's circle of relatives and friends. Most importantly it is about learning to become open and tolerant of others from different cultures. Other people, however, oppose cross-cultural marriage claiming that it creates major problems. One major drawback is the disapproval from parents and society at large. Also, it is very hard for some to relocate and live in a new country and adapt to its traditions. Finally, there might be a disagreement on how to raise children due to religious and cultural differences.
