EXERGISE : A REFLEGTIVE LEARNING JOURNAL
Individual reflection is one type of learning strategy used to promote retention and transfer. As one example, a reflective learning journal has been recommended as a means to increase learning, retention, and transfer of material from the learning environment. Three questions that can be asked after each learning module or chapter are:
What have I learned in this module?
How can I apply this learning in my work or personal life?
What barriers have I experienced in applying this learning in my work or personal life?
For the materials in Chapter write out short responses to each of these questions. If possible, exchange responses with another student in your class, and compare your answers. Might this learning strategy be effective for you as you move forward with this course? If not, what other learning strategies discussed in the chapter might you use in this course?
