Experiment Design:

Design a $2$ X $2$ ANOVA experiment with $2$ levels of each independent variable.

Draw a table and post it with proper labeling.

Also, write out the three hypotheses

This is a conceptual exercise only to test if you understand what an experiment is $-$ so there is no data!

Example hypothesis:

H$1$: As x$1$ rises Y rises.

This means there is a positive correlation between X$1$ the manipulated variable and Y the dependent variable $($e$.$g$.,$ perceptions$).$

Try to relate this to a type of business as well. Simple is fine.

However, to be outstanding it would be better to have your idea $($basic or not$)$ be at least a contribution to the literature.

Hint: Look at an example article that is an experiment and check out their future research ideas and use one.

Here is a simple example. H$3$ or the interaction is the most difficult to write. The example I am giving you does not really tease out the "form" of the interaction. For those that want to try to be more exact, your H$3$ is easier and more appropriate if it is in two sentences that get at the form of the interaction. For example, one sentence $($H$3$a$)$ could say there is no relationship and the H$3$b could say there is a relationship.

H$1$: The more colorful $($versus black and white$)$ the wine label, the more positive the attitude toward the wine.

H$2$: The more textured $($versus smooth$)$ the wine label, the more positive the consumer$$s attitude toward the wine.

H$3$: The more textured $($versus smooth$),$ and more colorful the label, the more positive the attitude toward the wine. $($this one does not really express the form though$)$

So a better version of H$3$ the illustrate the "form" of the interaction is:

H$3$a: Colorful $($versus black and white$)$ will have no significant differences in the attitude toward the wine, with a smooth label.

H$3$b: Colorful $($versus black and white$)$ will have significant positive differences in the attitude toward the wine, with a textured label.
