Exploring Animated Features

1. Use a search engine to locate the home pages for NBC Universal, Golf Channel, Zappos, and VisitCalifornia.

2. Open each website in a new tab. Review the home page and three of the subsidiary pages at each website. Make note of the type and target audience of each website.

3. Evaluate how well, in your opinion, each website uses animated elements on the home and subsidiary pages that support the websites purpose and meet target audience needs and expectations.

4. Summarize your findings by identifying each website and its purpose, and select one animated element for each website that best fits the purpose of the website. Be prepared to discuss your findings in class.

5. Search for websites from which you can purchase animations and multimedia for a fee. Visit one of the websites, and locate at least one element you feel would be appropriate for the Fit4U website. Make a note of the cost, technical requirements, and quality of the element. Determine whether the element meets the criteria for inclusion.

6. Save your findings on your computer with your last name in the file name. (Example: part_01_Jones.doc). Click the Choose File button below to find and select your saved document, and submit.
