Final Project Report

Your project report should include the following Sections and information:

1. Introduction: motivate the reason for the paper and what will be learned

2. Formatting Your data - Discuss why we format data

a). Discuss why it was important to tidy this data before you begin the analysis process.

b). Provide an example of splitting your data and how its beneficial to the future analysis.

c). Discuss how you joined the data and how this expanded the dataset.

3. Learning your data

b). Discuss the importance of understanding the all the variables (fields/columns) listed in the data set.

c). For the variable Garage Cars state the description and state what Tableau list as the data type and continuous/categorical characteristics of the variable. Why is this correct or incorrect?

d). Select one variable from the table above, explain how the description impacted your decision of the selection of data type, independent/dependent, and continuous/categorical characteristics of the variable.

4. Exploring your data

a). Discuss the importance of understanding granularity within this dataset. State what the initial level of granularity was for the Ames Housing Data, what does each individual row represent? Provide an example from Milestone 3 discussing a separate level of granularity

b). Explain why understanding the distribution of variables are important for exploring your data. Use a histogram you created from Milestone 3 to discuss the importance of distributions of continuous variables. Include Screenshot. Use the bar chart you created from Milestone 3 to discuss the importance of distributions of categorical variables. Include Screenshot.

c). Select one of the boxplots you created in Milestone 3, explain how you read the box plot (i.e. IQR, upper hinges, variation in middle 50%).

d). Define standard deviation and variance. Explain how your box plot can be used to discuss the variation of the variable.

5. Analyzing and Visualizing your data

a). Use the information that you created for milestone 4 to discuss which variable you found to be the strongest predictor of the sales price. Explain and interpret the linear regression that you created that modeled strongest predictor of sales price.

b). Use the three visualizations (Include Screenshots of each visualization) you created for milestone 4 to explain how the independent variables impact the sales price of a home.

c). Highlight the key take aways about sale price that you want the executives to understand

6. Conclusion: Conclude the paper and reiterate the key findings.

The report to be written in a professional manner and should include but is not limited to: having a title page, titled sections, and not having spelling and grammar errors. Finally, the paper is to be a minimum of four full written pages but no longer than six pages. This is the written content of the paper and does not including the title page, pictures, graphs, appendices, etc. Not following all of these requirements will result in a deduction of points.
