In your proposal, you will: Define the specific problem you have chosen Discover an effective technology, product or process that solves or improves the problem Explain how this tech, product or process works to solve the problem you have identified Identify sources that will help you complete the report (annotated bibliography) Proposal Sections The following 4 sections must be included in your proposal:

Overview Introduce your project in a sentence. Explain your goal and give details about the scope of your research.

Background/Problem Being Addressed Identify the problem that you are investigating; use some of the information youve gathered from your sources/research by scanning, reading summaries, abstracts, etc. Include information about: The issues history (when, where, how and why it started, and continues) Causes of this problem and effects (why does this happen and whats the impact)

Project Rationale/ Solution Being Investigated Now that readers understand the issue, you want to convince these readers that the project is worth pursuing. Do this by explaining: Why the reader should be interested in this project What the risks are for not solving this issue What you see as a possible solution that you will research Give a brief overview or description of the solution, since you havent fully investigated it yet Identify any benefits/drawbacks to your solution that youve identified so far Remember to cite your sources in this proposal (in text + Annotated Bibliography)
