Literature review/background research Students & students groups Demographic and personality characteristics do not significantly influence participation. Students from larger high school have a higher chance to be more active Individual characteristics, and the present college environment, influenced levels of participation. Students with more opportunities to participate in the overall student life of the institution could have more student-to-student interactions.and student interactions were found to cultivate a more active social life in college. And active college social life by participating in college student organizations could influence how one perceives his or her own college experience. Study found a significant difference between undergraduates who were members of organizations compared to students who were not. Participants of college student organizations were more likely to perceive their educational experiences as high quality compared to non-participants Feelings of satisfaction and positive perceptions of relationships with faculty. Non-participants did not have the same level of connection to their campus compared to students who were members of college student organizations. General BSA The Trent Business Students Association was founded in 1998 by a group of Trent Business Students who identified the need for a non-academic component inside Trent University's Business Administration Program. Beginning with this fundamental premise, the students quickly developed a conceptualization of an exemplary student organization that includes multiple aspects such as personal and professional growth, academic enhancement, social connectivity, and a pervasive sense of affiliation for individuals affiliated with the program and association. The Trent Business Students Association has evolved as an important and respected component of the Business Administration Program since its beginnings. The Trent Business Students' Association provides several opportunities for students to further their personal and professional development, deepen their academic interests, and participate in social networking events. The Trent Business Students' Association (TBSA) took the function of an umbrella organization in January 2020, encompassing both the Trent Accounting Society (TAS) and the Trent Youth Entrepreneurship Society (TYES). This strategic initiative aims to concentrate resources and strengthen the collective representation of Trent University business students, allowing for more effective lobbying for their interests. The TBSA was named "Most Outstanding Council in Canada" by the Canadian Association of Business Students (CABS) in 2013-14. Alexandria Guay, a past president of the TBSA and a student seeking a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, received the CABS organization's "Female Executive of the Year Award" in 2015. At Trent University, Entrepreneurship Week is considered one of the biggest weeks of the year for the Trent Business Students Association. With Entrepreneurship Week nearing its end, the TBSA hosted the Meet the Entrepreneur Social on Thursday. The week ended with a closing ceremonies event for the TBSA's celebrations of Global Entrepreneurship Week 2018. The Trent Business community is known for their entrepreneurial spirit, but Entrepreneurship Week is not just for entrepreneurs.

TBSA & other subdivisions Listed below are the registered student organizations that are related to the Trent School of Business: TAS(Trent Accounting Society), TMA(Trent Marketing Association), TYES(Trent Youth Entrepreneurship Society). The TAS is recorded to have one of the highest student engagement rates across Canada. It was also named Subsidiary Club of the Year in 2015-2016 by the Canadian Association of Business Students (CABS). The TYES was created initially for aspiring entrepreneurs. They unfortunately have zero virtual presence. While TAS and TYES were incorporated into the TBSA in 2020, TMA remains an independent student organization. The Trent School of Business also has a partnership with Enactus. This is an entrepreneurial organization that helps aspirants with start-ups. While Enactus does not have a presence on the official Trent website, Enactus has gradually grown its reputation and influence on campus by partnering with other student organizations and tackling various local issues. But all things considered, Enactus is a third party and has no direct affiliation to TBSA. In this growing digital world, all of these aforementioned student organizations have barely any social media presence. Facebook is considered outdated and nearly obsolete yet the primary online presence of these organizations are on Facebook. The response rates of all of these organizations are also abysmal. The initial generic response has been automated through the use of a bot. Ultimately, after getting incorporated into the TBSA, TAS and TYES have received no further accolades. As our world grows to become more and more digitized, student groups need to adapt and establish a solid and efficient online presence to remain relevant.
