Below you will see a file that contains the data for the Justlee database...the data is listed in table
order...the tables are listed alphabetically...the first thing you need to do is to create the INSERT
statements for the data...there are two catches to doing that...
The data in the file matches the way the fields in the database should be arranged and
defined...if your tables are not defined correctly or if they are defined differently from the
data you will not be able to INSERT the data as it is in the file...so be prepared to make
changes...
REMEMBER....you cannot insert data for a foreign key before the data is inserted for
the primary key...so you need to make sure you insert data in the proper sequence...
SECOND...
Just to give you a little practice, I have included THREE very basic SQLs for you to get to work....we will
be doing a LOT more on the SELECT next week...but I want you to at least do a few basic items...the
three SQLs you need to write are:
Display a list of all data contained in the BOOKS table REMEMBER MY NOTE IN THE
POWER POINT ON
List the title and publication date for each book in the BOOKS table...use the column
heading "Publication Date" for the pubdate...
Determine which categories are in the BOOKS table...list each category only once...
