Scenario: The Problem You Need to Solve $q,$

You and your collaborative learning partner$($s$)$ are on the hiring committee that's been tasked with finding a new employee for your department. Your supervisor isn't sitting in on the interviews with you, but they have given you a directive to be sure the person you hire fits the office culture. Everyone in your office is between the ages of $25-30,$ you all enjoy going to happy hour together after work, and you all share the same interests outside of work. You personally believe these similarities contribute to a fun office culture where everyone is family.

Your committee has interviewed $5$ people, four have $1-3$ years of experience and are similar in age to you all. One candidate has $15$ years of experience and is $45$ years old. During the interview, the older, more experienced candidate made it clear he would work hard Monday through Friday from $8-5,$ but he won't be part of happy hour and other out$-$of$-$work activities unless he's paid to participate.

It's clear to you and the other members of the hiring committee that the person with $15$ years of experience is the most qualified person for the job, but your supervisor told you to hire for culture fit, which you know is wrong and doesn't reflect cultural maturity in your recruitment processes.
