"Flinders PrecisionMed Instruments $($FPMI$),$ a cutting$-$edge medical device manufacturer, is evaluating different vendors for a high$-$precision diamond cutting machine used in the

production of surgical instruments. FPMI is interested in precise cutting for creating diamond$-$coated surgical blades and tools used in minimally invasive surgeries. It is

considering four vendors: DiamondCut Inc. $($DCI$),$ PrecisionDiamond Solutions $($PDS$),$ FineCut Machinery $($FCM$),$ and SurgiTech Diamonds $($STD$).$ Each vendor offers diamond$-$

cutting machines with similar prices. FPMI's primary criterion for selection is the accuracy of the diamond$-$cutting machines.

FPMI invites each vendor to demonstrate their machine at the company's production facility for a test. The test begins at $7$:$00$ a$.$m$.,$ and each machine is allowed to warm up for

three hours before use. After the warm$-$up period, one of FPMI's experienced technicians will use each machine to cut $2$ cm wide diamond$-$coated surgical blades for two hours.
